I purchased an L-7 Cardio Landice for $3,174.70 on 2/16/02. Since that time, the treadmill and cardio belt have not worked, despite repeated attempts by the dealer to fix them. I purchased the Landice after carefully researching treadmills. I wanted a treadmill that would be reliable, known for quality, last for a long time without problems, and have a cardio feature. I finally decided on a Landice, even though it cost considerably more than I had initially planned to spend, as I was assured by the salesman that Landice users were happy, satisfied users, and that the cardio feature was great. Since that time, my only experience has been dissatisfaction with the treadmill. The cardio belt monitor, doesn't monitor my pulse consistantly. In fact, most of the time it doesn't monitor my pulse at all. I've tried tightening and applying extra gel, but the only thing that works - and it only works some of the time - is that I must firmly press the belt against my chest and continue to hold it there during my entire workout.
You can imagine how happy I am to have to hold the belt firmly in place while trying to work out. Even then, the readings fluxuate from 0 all over the place. Barr has replaced the original belt with another manufacturer's belt and that is working as poorly as the Landice cardio belt. Next, the treadmill Cardio feature doesn't work. When I set it up for Cardio, which is the main feature I bought the treadmill for in the first place, it starts at 2.3 miles per hour and then goes slower and slower and slower until it virtually stops. This happens even when I can get a pulse reading. I try stopping and starting, stopping and starting, up to five and six times, but n othing works. Barr has tried to respond to my complaints and a representative has come to my home twice to check out the machine, and even replaced the panel, but when he leaves, the treadmill and heart monitor again refuse to work. I am very unhappy with my purchase. I feel that I purchased the Landice in good faith, have a treadmill that doesn't work and will never work, have a cardio feature I can never use, and a belt that wont work. Having you replace this part and that part, which doesnt fix the treadmill and cardio belt anyway, makes me feel that I have a defective, substandard, poor quality, dud of a product.
