Complaints.com received the following consumer message on January 26, 2003:

 

From: Jim & Julie Woolford [Email User] RE: L'OREAL Couleur Experte - hair turned a bright carrot orange - attempt to hightlight hair turned bad

 

I purchased the above product in hopes of highlighting my hair. What a disaster!! I followed the directions exactly as stated. My hair turned out a bright carrot orange.

 

I looked like a circus clown. I immediately had to drive to the nearest store and buy another hair coloring product to try to repair the damage. I have that on as I am typing this. I am praying that my hair doesn't fall out from too much coloring. I know what kind of damage can be done from over coloring.

 

I spent $21.99 plus sales tax on this product and another $10.43 for the second hair color to try to look human.

 

I can't tell you how upset I am. I am still deciding what other steps to take to make sure no one else has the same experience as I have.
