Complaints.com received the following consumer message on January 20, 2003:

Had problem with Gateway computer. Called customer service for tech support. Discovered tech support numbers in Naperville, IL. Called them to find out that they charge $3.50 a minute for tech support. My computer is 2 and a half years old! I paid $1500+ for it.
I have appliances in my kitchen that haved lasted years longer and have cost me less than 10% of my computer. When I said something to the person on the phone, he told me that Gateway only has a warranty of one year and that 'computers don't last forever'.
