In February of 2002, I stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton for a conference and added a couple of extra days on to spend in Vegas. After making reservations directly with the hotel, we asked about transportation to/from the airport. They told us the hotel had a van/shuttle that would be there. When we got to the airport, we ended up paying about $8 (per person) to ride a shuttle (not the hotel’s) that stopped at several hotels. After a 30 minute ride, we waited 45 minutes in the check in line. The first room they sent us to didn’t have the beds made up, and had not been cleaned at all. I called the front desk and they assigned us a new ‘refurnished’ room. After waiting for security, and taking our bags to the new room, it was clean and looked new. I didn't rent a car, so I walked to the strip. The hotel is only 1 block from the road the strip is on (as they advertise), but several blocks north of all of the Hotel/Casino's, so it took about 30 minutes to reach the north side of the strip. By the time we made it to the main hotels, we were too tired to hardly do anything. After the conference we decided to move to a hotel closer to the strip. The hotel then told us that because our reservation still had a few days on it, there would be a $100 fee for early check-out. After blowing about $250 in their casino (and they verified how much I spent on my comp card), I asked to talk to the manager, who had an extremely condescending attitude and still would not let me out of this hotel.

I have never felt so taken advantage of in my life! After my experience with the hotel lying, moving me and trapping me, I was too upset to have fun in Vegas for the remainder of my trip. I will never again consider staying at any Hilton.
