2000 Toyota Camry - purchased used with 11,000 miles - several serious mechanical problems - gas leaks, fuel gage problem, stalls while driving

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on January 1, 2003:

RE: 2000 Toyota Camry - purchased used with 11,000 miles - several serious mechanical problems - gas leaks, fuel gage problem, stalls while driving Attention all Toyota Camry Intersted Parties: I purchased a 2000 Toyota Camry used w/ 11,000 and for the least of my surprises I have got a lemon of a car! My purchase was on 6/9/01 by 6/11/01 it was already getting repaired. This vehicle has had nothing but serious mechanical related problems to include gas leaks, fuel smells, replacement of fuel tank, charcoal canister not working, fuel gauge, surging, check engine light on, electrical, and now it just stalls while driving (very dangerous), and while parked it won't start up!

In the last couple of months it has stalled 5 times. The list goes on. I am very frustrated. I have written to Toyota Motor Company in Torrance, California, (that was a joke), the National Dispute Center, and I was assigned a Mickey Mouse Arbitrator not worth my time off work!

Case denied! It has been a nightmare of a lifetime. My next thing is that I'm pursueing this in court my self against all parties involved to get all of my money back including car rental, time off work, etc, etc....you name it. That arbitrator was very biased in the meeting and I wonder if that's common practice. Sincerely, An Unfortunate Toyota Customer
