I have purchased two Phillips ( MAGNAVOX ) electronic components, both have conveniently failed shortly after the warranty period elapsed. The first was a TV, the second was a home surround sound system, FR965 Digital Cinema Sound Center. It appears that Philips markets products that are NOT properly engineered for the home consumer.
The specs on the receiver at the speaker connections requires speaker impedance of 6 OHMS, the speakers provided with the proclaimed matched system are 8 OHMS, this results in a system shutdown when you turn up the volume to experience exciting surround sound from digital DVD's.
The consumer roducts division appears to not have consumer's interest in mind. In my opinion, Philips builds JUNK products for the NOT RICH people. I complained to them and received NO RESPONSE. I will NOT BUY PHILLIPS electronics, if you do, you may regret it as I do.
