Krups Sensotoast Deluxe Model 287 In June, 2000 we bought a Krups 4-slice Sensotoast Deluxe, Model 287, in white. It began toasting unevenly within a few weeks, and in December, 2001, completely quit functioning.

 

The warranty was one year, and I have just read numerous complaints on-line about the short life and uneven toasting of this model. The service office we contacted told us it will be 2-4 weeks before we get the replacement part (cost: $10) because it is on back order.

 

I suspect Krups is well aware that this model is not durable, but continue to sell it.
