Levitz's and Stain Safe Co - furniture problem
We purchased furniture from Levitzs store in Wilmington,Delware on 2-06-00.We purchased over $4,500 worth of furniture that day withthe 7-year protection plan. The plan is with a company called Stain Safe.0n2-28-01,I called Levitzs to report that each of three-piece living room set was ripping and also the chair arm has broken. They instructed me to call the warranty co at 1-800-440-2965
I filed my claim on 3-0801.The leather repair companycalled back but however we have fabric. They said they would call the warranty company back and they will recontact me. They never did. With many return phonecalls, It took till 5-0301 for the contractor to see the furniture.
And aftermany run around calls, they first denied the claim on because I said it was rippingand did not say it was seam seperation. After more phone calls, they then saidIt was denied because they said I received the furniture in that condition. Ithen proceeded to contact their grievance department and also the main officeof Levitzs. The grievance department never responded. But I do have proof theyreceived my letter, I certified them.
Mel Mitchell from the main office called said he wouldcontact Claude the highest person with the Stain safe company and he wouldreturn my call. He did call back one time with no call from Claud. But he callsme to see what he or Stain safe could do. He never called back.
I called 14 times and left message on his voice mail. When Icalled the main office number in December they number has been disconnected. Ialso called the warranty company back to ask about the chair arm. They wouldcall me back. They have never did. I filed with better Business Bureau in July2000 on-line. They wrote a letter saying they would transfer my information toa closer BBB.But they never contacted me. I have called a couple times but thewait got too long over 14 minutes.
I also have documented every thing they told me
With dates, I have pictures and the two letters they havesent me. I was wondering if there are anysuggestions you might have for us or maybe any thing you could do for us.
