Complaints.com received the following e-message on January 23, 2002:

Havertys Furniture, Frisco, TX - ad in Frisco Enterprise for Brookwood Sofa - not honored by store

Havertys Furniture has a full page add in the Frisco Enterprise advertising a Brookwood Sofa for $99.00.

When I went into the store to require about the ad I was told she would need to talk to the Kirk the manager.

Kerry the salesperson return and told me and my husband they will not honor the ad it was a mis-print there

are floor samples that are mark down at a reasonable price.

At that time we told her we want the sofa at the advertise price, Kerry went to the back and Kirk came out and told us no in very rude way and made a comment by if a car dealership accidentally put a wrong price on a car that they will not sell it at the wrong price. I was not at a car dealership.

And it was a full page ad this is America if the ad read a certain price that company should stand by it. Kirk Puls Assistant Manager is what he wrote on a business card, at the Havertys showroom in Frisco TX near the Stonebriar Mall.

My name is Mary Candler my husband is Reginald we just move here to Frisco in our new home and we want that sofa for the price it was advertise.

that is just rediculous to think that they would honor it. If you read the small print at the bottom of all ads it says"not responsible for misprints"

the sofa cost them more than 99.00. i and anyone who has any business knowledge would agree it should not be honored. Mistakes happen and when the ad ran everyone there knew it would be a hard day because people like you and your husband would come in and act like it is your right to have it for that price. FALSE ADVERTISMENT i can just hear it like you said it to me. Grow up and enter the real world. Havertys is a great company and they do have great prices. so stupid "we arent at a car dealership. shame on you.
