1996 Kenmore (Sears) clothes dryer - motor broken

Complaints.com received the following e-message on January 19, 2002:

1996 Kenmore (Sears) clothes dryer - motor broken

I am very upset and disappointed that my clothes dryer which I purchased from Sears along with the washer, will have to be picked up by the trash because the motor went out so soon.

Both were purchased in 1996, and I just feel that this dryer should have lasted longer than it did, since it doesn't get used that often.

I will now have to purchase a new dryer that hopefully will last longer than this one. I am afraid now to buy a Kenmore dryer and may have to choose a different brand.

The repairman stated that it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one than to fix this one.
