Nike DMX walking shoes - making squeaking noise

My family and I have purchased many, many pairs of nike footwear. About 6 months ago I purchased a pair of DMX walking shoes and after about 2 weeks the right shoe started making a funny squawking noise.

I went back to the store and finaly convinced the manager that it was not the floor or wax on the floor, but the shoe itself. He replaced the shoes, but I had to pay an $8.00 difference because they had been onsale. I don'g like to argue so I just paid it. Now, the left shoe of the new pair is doing the same thing.

I really don't want to go back to that store again and I wear them in the office and they are really irratating and everyone knows when I am comming. Please tell me what I can do with these shoes to make them stop. I can't afford to throw them away, and I certainly am not going to buy another pair.

ough be
