Earthlink - trouble with change in internet plan billing - prepaid request not honored

Complaints.com received the following e-message on January 12, 2002:

Earthlink - trouble with change in internet plan billing - prepaid request not honored

I joined Earthlink to try the $10/10hours on 12-22-01 to try out if I would like their service. I seemed to like what I had used and e mailed earthlink on 12-26-01 to request a change from my $10 plan to a prepaid plan for one year @ the prepaid rate of $19.95 per month ($239.40).

I then received and email saying this would be done if I e mailed the last four digits of the credit card to be charge the $239.40.

I responded to that request. When I checked on my account the $10 plan was effective from 12-22-31 to 12-31-01 and then my service was transferred on 12-31-01 to start @ $21.95 monthly. I feel I lost out somewhere along the way. I surely will cancel on 01-29-02 as the prepaid request was not honored.--- Hazel Drude
