From: ORION BYTE [Email User] DEAD ON ARRIVAL IBM DESKTOP
To, The Manager Complaints
From, Michelle Pereira Orion Byte 6A Apollo Indl. Estate Off Mahakali Caves Road Andheri (E), Mumbai 93. Phone : 022 6925273/ 74/ 75/ 76.
Sub.: DOA IBM Desktop - Purchased from Ms. Redington India Ltd. Mumbai
This is to bring to your notice that Orion Byte has purchased an IBM Desktop Model being 6049 B1A from Ms. Redington India Ltd. (Nariman Point, Mumbai) on 7/1/2002, payment terms being a Demand Draft on Delivery for re-selling purpose.
The same was a DOA piece. This then being conveyed to the Dealing Executive from RIL is one Mr. Siddique (Marketing) who told us to get in touch with the Redington Service Centre (Worli, Mumbai). There we were put on to one Mr. Arun. They promised to send their Service Engineer to the Client's Site to certify it as DOA but no one turned up neither was there a phone call from them.
On 9/1/2002 the Area Manager -Service Mr. Rajiv Gadre (RIL) called and when we did mention to him our desperation and urgency of the matter he tells us that Redington Service and Marketing are two separate issues, and he is in no way concerned about the same.
The above only implies that once the Disributor has the money safe in the kitty, their liability ceases and they do take their own sweet time in responding and moreover a new experience of Departments of the same organisation shed responsibilities. I guess that's "EXCELLENT MANAGAMENT".
What we now expect is by default a DOA has to be REPLACED rather than REPAIRED (if that what's in the Distributor's mind.)
We would be obliged if the same be treated quickly if not urgently.
Michelle
