RE: 24 Hour Fitness, Yorba Linda, CA - follow-up message - still music with explicit lyrics

I filed a complaint for the disgusting language used on your. Persistent radio station used at the 24 hour fitness#125 in Yorba Linda,California, I suggested that if you were truly interested in the happiness of your patrons you would install a suggestion box to read the real feelings your patrons have about the thugs constantly talking about...

I would surmise 30% of the people working out have had to purchase head radio and cd's to filter out this garbage Hip Hop music that doesn't even have the correct beat that coincides with lifting out. You don't see any aerobics teachers trying to teach their classes to this vulgar,3 people talking at the same time but saying different sentences,mass-confusion.

I get letters all the time asking me what to do about the dirty and irritation music at 24 Hour Fitness. They all wonder if they complain their member ship will suddenly be invalid. I just received another I-Mail from an unhappy customer concerned and unhappy.I am forwarding you one of the many letters I receive daily. What' s wrong with the Beatles,Eagles,Led zeppelin,The Who,Jimi Hendricks, etc.. Thank You Sam Harris cn44461

Management, I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for 2 years and must say your equipment and staff are top rate. However,I can't remember a time that I have worked out,no matter what time of the day, that I have not heard several complaints about the Hip Hop music being played. I concur with these complaints. I work out in club # 125 in Yorba Linda,Ca..

The majority of patrons are not 16 to 20 years of age. They average between 25 and 60 years of age. To most of us this music sounds like fingernails screeching on a chalkboard. The main complaint I hear about is not only the sound of the music but the immoral lyrics. Last week I heard a song describe ... [edited].

This is demeaning to 24 Hour Fitness,to the members and to the staff. I have mentioned the lyrics to several members of your staff several times and have been told they pass many similar complaints on to their superiors but have never been given authorization to never play the Hip Hop station again. I had the opportunity to speak with the general manager of the club about 6 months ago and he said he couldn't please everyone and suggested I buy a "Walkman".

If you have any question that the majority of the club members feel as I do please put up a suggestion box and ask for member participation for club improvement. This music is irritating, promotes violence, demeans women and is simply BAD BUSINESS. Sincerely, Samuel R. Harris

get over it and buy an ipod. obviously you have more than enough time on your hands to complain about something so minor. i am 30+ and i enjoy the music that they play there but i have an ipod so that i can choose (control) what i listen to when i work out. invest in one so you won't complain as much!
