I/O Magic USB 2.0 External Rewriter - stopped working after 3 months - trouble communicating with company during return process

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on February 4, 2003:
From: Ethel Balatayo [COMPLAINTS.COM_FORM_MAIL_22095#] RE: I/O Magic USB 2.0 External Rewriter - stopped working after 3 months - trouble communicating with company during return process
I bought the above in October and after 3 months, it stopped working. I chatted with their Live Technical Help but the problem was not corrected. I was told to return and I followed instructions posted on their website. It was written that a confirmation usually takes 1 business day and it was only after 2 weeks did I receive it. But this was after 3 emails I sent to the RMA department.
I tried to contact them by phone but nobody picks up even after I waited for 25 minutes (and it was not a toll-free number!). I followed their suggestion to call Wednesday and Thursday afternoon but still nobody picks up. This company has the worst customer service I've known. Ethel Balatayo
