Complaints.com received the following consumer message on February 3, 2003:

I bought a twin size bed frame at the Mattress Warehouse in Rockville, MD and returned it unopened 5 days later for refund. They refused to take it back and said the contract on the back of the invoice states this. I read the contract and it is very misleading.

 

It states "We do not give cash refunds. All refunds for cash and check payments will be processed from our main office and will take approximately three weeks. "All refund requests must be made in person and receipt must be shown." "Credit and Debit card refunds must be issued on the same card as payment was made."

 

It then states, "This contract cannot be cancelled, and once merchandise is received by the customer, it cannot be returned or exchanged." I find this language ambiguous and totally misleading.
