1997 Isuzu Rodeo - lifters shot - high oil consumption

I have a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo. My lifters are shot, my oil consumption is out of this world and I know of three other people who have this same problem with there Rodeos. What can I do?

This may sound odd, but whenever I pull up to another Rodeo I always listen for to see if I can hear a tick coming from their engine. I would say six out of ten times I do. This is most definitely Isuzus problem and I think it is quite unfair I have a car payment every month as well as a repair bill. Help me!
