Visioneer 7600 flatbed scanner - no drivers available for Windows XP - no toll free number to contact Visioneer

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on February 26, 2003:

Apparently they discontinued the 7600 flatbed scanner - after my wife spent good $'s buying it for me a few years ago. Now I have to 'trash' the thing because I have Win XP and they have no drivers available. They also seem to have no "customer service" available either. Their site only offers tel. no's.

No toll free no's. Are they going out of business? I would certainly question any mfr. who offers no convenient way for customers to contacts them. Thanks, PC Mag. directed me here and I don't think you can help me but it was sure fun to "voice and opinion".

I put you on favorites because I'll check here before buying another scanner.

PS: you folks are obviously computer literate - any suggestions on what brand I should look at re: scanners.
