RE: Floor Superstore, Eatontown, NJ - unauthorized charge - trouble dealing with store with regard to Mannington engineered wood floor purchase

We contracted to buy 1300 sq. ft. of Mannington engineered wood floors in May of 2002.It was to be installed when our new home was completed in Oct 2002.When house was completed, the floors were measured and additional monies paid.Nov 4th The installers did their instalation which took 2 days then said they didnt have enough wood to complete so hold back $500.

We held back money and store said they'd order the rest.THe next week we received a charge on 2200$ on our card that was not authorized by us so we went to the store and confronted salesperson(Anthony-who was now manager), he turned us over to a salesperson who went over our bill.He says there was $1300 on our charge for glue, which we did not know we were paying for(it was included in our $9.00 sq. ft. charge). THe original salesperson,Jerry is now district manager and took our order.

THe floor is not completed and we reported the situation to Better Business Bureau and credit card company. The credit card credited money back to our account. Evertime we've called Anthony never comes to the phone and lets someone else do his talking. They've been very rude on the phone. One time Jerry called back (district) manager listened to our story and appologized for their rudness and said he would invesrigate, that was 3 mo ago. We have not heard a word from them. The only reason he called is because the BBB contacted them They have until MaRCH 7TH to respond.

We r in an active adult community and have never experienced a store or salespeople like this Eatontown, NJ store. Buyer BEWARE.Next I will be sending them a lawyer's letter.I wish I had found complaints.com sooner, I would have been a smarter consumer. This is caution to all.

Thank you,

Judy Z.
