RE: Nextel - charged twice for $ 70 setup fee - call restriction placed on phone due to billing dispute - waiting to be contacted by manager - want to cancel service I have had nothing but problems with Nextel since I got their service in November 2002.

 

First they charged me twice for setup fees of $70.00. They said it was a mistake and that they would correct it by the next billing cycle. When I got my next bill the double charge was still there. When I called them they claimed that I had never called before. I gave them the time, date and who I spoke to. They then said they were transferring my call. Instead they disconnected me.

 

After 2 months and expensive phone calls because they have you call a long distance number, I finally got the bill straightened out.

 

Nextel then placed a restriction on both of my phones so I could not make any calls. When I called Nextel they said that the restriction was placed because I had complained about them double billing me and that I was disputing the bill. I asked Who authorized the restriction to be placed and they said they couldn't tell me.

 

I looked into having the service cancelled and was meet with a rude person named Cynthia who claimed to be a supervisor. When I asked to speak to a Manager she said that I would have to wait for one to call me as they couldn't allow me to speak with a Manager directly.

 

I never received a call back from a Manager. I have written numerous emails to Nextel asking that a Manager contact me. They continue to tell me to call Customer Care as a Supervisor could would contact me. There is a vicious loop at Nextel and absolutely NO Customer Service in my experience.

 

I would not recommend NEXTEL to anyone!!
