RE: Dell Computer - trouble, hassle getting credits due Told by Dell I had $14.95 shipping credit (summer '01) for a part they wanted returned, that was bad from my computer. That computer went bad in Dec of '01 and they exchanged it a refurbished model (I was none too happy about that) and they wanted the old one returned and would credit my account just as they had on the part exchange before. Every time I called tech support they always mentioned the $14.95 owed me, so I saw nothing wrong with adding the cost of shipping of the computer back to Austin Texas. I have been trying for over a year to get $25.66 for shipping computer and the $14.95 for the part returned. Guess what? Today I was first told, you don't have $14.95 due you, but after 20 or so minutes, I was told by our records, that you were told to send in a receipt and to send another one for the $25.66 for a total of $40.66 to be refunded.
Funny thing is I was never asked to send a receipt in all the phone calls I've made in the past and I did nothing special to get the $14.95 put on my credit balance. I had to force the confirmation (of delivery of computer) number on them to show they did receive the computer, and who signed for it. I was told today, "you get nothing until we receive the receipts" Nice company. End of story. End of Dell.
