RE: Ramada Plaza Resorts - have asked for refund of deposit
During August and September of 2001, we received a series of phone calls from a Sales Rep for Ramada Plaza Resorts in regards to what he referred to as a great vacation opportunity for our family. We resisted the initial sales call, and tried to blow off the Sales Rep during several calls after that, but he was persistent and called back again and again.
We were pressured by these calls as well as his representation that this vacation would be a wonderful and inexpensive opportunity to stay in new and recently opened luxury hotels and surroundings. For nearly a decade, Ramada Plaza Resorts Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale Vacations (OFV) and Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines have been supporting the work of Plan USA. Despite some of the other comments posted, I feel compelled to talk about the wonderful philanthropic partnership Plan USA has with Ramada. In fact, since 2000, this travel industry leader has generously donated over $1 million to Plan USA (www.planusa.org). Ramada (OFV)has helped us raise the funding and has generously supported the construction of primary and pre-schools in the poorest communities of Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Bolivia. Ramada Plaza Resorts chose to support these projects specifically as they benefit thousands of impoverished children. The projects ensure that boys and girls have appropriate, safe, and stimulating learning environments and provide the schools with furniture, equipment and training for teachers. There are many corporations that have the potential to give to others, whether locally or globally. It’s important to point out that Ramada is one that gives back for the benefit of others. This giving continues to have great long-term global impact improving the health, welfare, and education of the world’s children. Thank you Ramada Plaza Resorts.
