Videocon Fridge - cooling impared with iceless performance - door closure trouble - excessive heating of external surface

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on February 25, 2003:

A double-door VIDEOCON INTERNATIONAL Fridge was purchased by my old parents in 2000. From the starting itself the product had foll. defects : 1. COOLING IMPAIRED WITH "ICELESS" PERFORMANCE .2.CLOSURE OF ONE DOOR FORCES THE OPENING OF SECOND ( VIDEOCON DOUBLE DOOR ! ) 3.EXCESSIVE HEATING OF EXTERNAL SURFACE (The company rep adv to keep the fridge in front of a cooler !) Several complaints led to very few responses by the VIDEOCON INTL .Each of the esteemed visitor (the rep) did confirm the defects and directed us to contact another rep so that the fridge could be replaced as in several other cases with similar defects. Inspite of the above, the defective product is still 'comfortably' with us(requires a cooler in summers)

Fridge def. since purchase(Oct 2000) .Checked and confirmed by Company rep. Assured replacement by Regional Office at Lucknow since a known precedence exists.Please expedite or matter will be taken to Consumer Court resulting in adverse publicity of your Brand.
