Staples - sent in $ 50 rebate for Maxtor hard drive in Nov., 2002 - still haven't received rebate

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on February 23, 2003:

This $50. Was for A maxtor hard drive My rebate was sent in nov 2002. I received a email on 19 dec 02 saying my rebate was valid and in the final stages of processing and a rebare would be mailed in thirty days. That was 2 months ago.

I also received a email saying the rebate would be a check on a postcard. Maybe that was a signal to let me know you would lose it or someone else would cash it. I seen on your site that staples was also sending rebate checks on postcards.

That seems to be thier way to avoid actually sending the money. They feel they could just tell everyone---well your check was lost or cashed by someone else. I will not leave this alone until I get my money.
