December 1998 I purchased a living room group of Natuzzi leather furniture from Hank's Furniture total price was $5500. Purchased with the furniture was a 5 year stain warranty from Stainsafe Companies for $289. The sofa was stained in the fall of 2002 and I could not find the warranty until Feb. of 2003.
Upon attempting to file a claim, it was denied because it was not filed within 5 days of the original staining. I could have lied and said that it happened in Feb. but it is not my practice to do business in this manner.
I feel that denying the claim on this basis is a very unfair business practice. Worse, they didn't have the courtesy to mail or phone that the claim was denied. When I telephoned them they claimed that my phone was disconnected, although it was the very phone that I was speaking on. Their e-mail is Email User

I purchased a dining room table and chairs yesterday. The total cost was $3400.00. My sales rep advised me to buy damage protection, which was through STAINSAFE. If I had not read these complaints I would have purchased the warranty. Thank you! I wonder how such a rip-off company can stay in business. I wonder if they have ever paid a claim. I've made several, all under the provisions of the warranty, and they always deny it. They state that it isn't covered under the warranty. Once they denied a claim for a rip in my ottoman as pet damage. I don't even have a pet! Another time a piece of molding cracked of a dresser drawer and I was denied because they said I was denied because I did not keep the molding. They never even asked me if I had the molding, which I did. They are nothing but a scam. How are you doing? My name is Yoon park. I live in Ormond Beach Florida. I bought a furniture about 3 years ago. At that time the sales rep strongly suggest me to buy 7 year worrynomore warranty. This morning I reported the damages about our sofa, the cutomer service lady kept asking when it happened. I could not exactly memorized when it happened, so I told her about 1 month ago. she asked me what was the damages very specifically, I explained everything. after that she told me she can not provide service, because I told her 1 month ago, therefore I asked my wife, and my wife said it happened 10 days ago, I corrected that it was happened 10 days ago. But the customer serivce lady said that she can not change my status. I talked to the supervisor, she also told me you should fix them by yourself.
I think this is not right. This is my first time to report damages, and maybe my English was not perfect because I am an Asian. I felt like this is sort of racial discrimination. They just ignore what I said. They kept saying I at first said 1 month ago.
Please help me out.
Best regard, Yoon Park From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Wednesday, 09-Jan-08 10:34:37 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
