RE: Home Depot Tilton NH

I am happy to say that Home depot has given us an upgrade on our Cabinets that has cost us no extra money out of our pocket. We had a kitchen designer, Craig, help us out and he was EXTREMELY helpful. I felt I need to post this seeing Home Depot did rectify the problem. Just hope the new cabinets come in okay!!!!

RE: Home Depot, Tilton, NH - Mills Pride kitchen cabinets - fronts of doors peeling off - trouble dealing with Home Depot I ordered Mills Pride kitchen cabinets in early December from Home Dept. in Tilton NH. When the cabinets arrived the bottom corner unit was not there. I called the store and they told me to call Mills Pride directly. When I called Mills Pride they told me that they don't even make that corner cabinet.

Home Depot said that we could TRY to match the cabinet up made by another company. We said that was totally unacceptable!!! Home Depot called Mills Pride and they ( Mills Pride) said they would custom make the cabinet. That was at least 5 weeks ago and STILL no corner cabinet. Our installer decided to at least start installing the top cabinets because at this point we are almost 2 months behind. After starting to install the top cabinets he called my husband to come to the house. The fronts of the cabinet doors were literally peeling off.

At this point my husband called Home Depot and told them to come and get the cabinets out of the house. I spoke to a Ken Eastman and he told me how sorry he was and because of all the grief and wasted time we have had he would give us an upgrade on the cabinets. We made and appointment with one of the designers. She told us that she was told to have us pick out some American Woodmark cabinets. I am assuming it is a grade up from Mills Pride.

After designing the kitchen again with the cabinets we were told to pick out she told us we were $2000 over. We didn't get any extra cabinets except for a cabinet over the refrigerator which Mills Pride did not offer. What they are trying to do is to get us to buy more expensive cabinets. That was on Feb. 14th. I was suppose to hear back from Ken Eastman on Monday Feb 17th. Once again he did not call. I called on Feb. 19th and spoke to him. He said the best he could do was $4400.00. The upgraded cabinets were $5500.00.

We evidently are expected to put in $1000 towards the upgrade we were told we were being given. The original cost of our cabinets were $3464.00. We had to pay our installer $250 each day he lost not being able to install our cabinets. It came to $500. We are also almost 2 months behind on the completion of the house because of all of this.

What I feel he is trying to do is get us to spend more money on cabinets even after ALL the problems we have had. We have bought just about all our building supplies at this store and feel we are being taken advantage of.
