Following is the reply from North American Housing Corp. regarding the complaint on your website. Per your policy, it is my understanding that this reply will be posted above the original complaint.

"North American Housing Corp. is a manufacturer of modular housing. The company sells its modular units exclusively to builders. As such it is a supplier fo building materials. The company does not sell its products to homeowners. There was no real estate transaction involving North American Housing Corp. and the individual making this complaint. The person making the complaint entered into a real estate transaction with L&L Homes and L&L Homes decided to use North American Housing product as part of that transaction. The deposit was made with L&L Homes and L&L Homes would not refund it."

On March 8, 2001 a real estate transaction involving myself, a Realtor of whom I was purchasing land from, North American Housing Corp., and L & L. Homes. North American Housing is the modular home manufacturing company, L & L. Homes was the builder responsible for prepping the lot, setting and finishing the home. On March 8, 2001 North American Housing received a deposit of $7470.00 from my lender. No funds were distributed to L & L. Homes. L & L. Homes had some final adjustments to make and was to inform NAH when to begin construction. ON March 15, 2001 I was informed by L & L. Homes that the lot was too small for the home I wanted. In the months to follow we reviewed other plans to accommodate the lot, non were satisfactory. On June 25 I informed NAH I wanted the $7470 refunded to my lender so I could proceed with a custom built home. NAH said they have a no refund policy.
