The Works - toilet bowl cleaner - Lime-O-Sol Company/Indiana - spilled product caused hole in carpeting
"The Works" Toilet Bowl Cleaner This product is highly destructive -- there is no bold warning label on the front to warn of the harshness. The container was knocked over onto my carpet for a few minutes with the safety cap on and it leaked out and disintegrated a 4" x 3" area of carpet down to the backing.
I called the company immediately and they took my complaint. Two weeks later I received a letter stating that they received my claim but there was no need to send pictures or get estimates because they were already denying my claim and didn't need any other information.
I am sending another letter to them as a send you this e-mail but I am sure they will again do nothing. I have warned everyone I can about this destructive product especially people who clean houses for a living so they will not find themselves in my situation if this product is spilled. You should have read the bottle. You should already know that all cleaners are basically harsh. The money I saved on buying and trying bowl cleaners that DON'T work and instead buying The Works for REAL cheap is worth more than having to replace a small piece of carpet. Just admit you screwed up by allowing it to spill, duh! It contains hydrochloric acid and if you look on the back you should wear goggles and other protective clothing. All to clean your toilet. This should be removed from the market, or only sold with a chemical applicators license. Also, I found where hydrochloric acid should not be put into the sewer system. I am suffering from a chemical burn from this a couple days ago. Don't buy it unless you take extreme measures to protect yourself.
