Complaints.com received the following e-message on February 20, 2002:

AT&T / Long Distance service - trouble with long distance cancellation
We initially signed up for their long distance service, however the next day I received an offer for free long distance with my cell provider. I obviously called AT&T immediately before service was even connected, paid the $10 cancellation fee with my local phone company.....
Att still keeps trying to charge me and it seems as if I can never get rid of them I call and call but still nothing. I should have known not to do business with them after our very similar experience with cancelling their isp service a few years ago. (That took about a year to finally get rid of the final bill).
