ubid.com - 'winning' bid cancelled by uBid.com

Complaints.com received the following e-message on February 19, 2002:

ubid.com - 'winning' bid cancelled by uBid.com

i recently bid on a digitial camcorder at ubid.com.

it was confirmed that i had won - i was sent an e-mail with the winning bid and shipping charge. FFWD - 2 days later - the order gets cancelled. reason given - could not verify my information. however, another bid, that i had won on the same day, gets verified. it seems like ubid.com cancels when the winning bids are low or something, if they can't make any money off it.
