Wickes Furniture / picking up order - wrong chairs, late availability

We placed an order on Nov 4, 2001 with Wickes furniture for some new side chairs for our Dining Room set. We were told they would be in on Dec 21, 2001. I called on Dec 23, 2001 and they weren't in, the new delivery date was Jan 4.

Wickes called said chairs were in, we picked them up and took the chairs home. Found out that the chairs were the wrong chairs. Returned them the next day, and had to stay at the warehouse for 3 hours, to dispute they weren't the right chairs.

We were told the chairs will be in on Jan 31. They called again on Jan 14, said the chairs were in. We went back to Wickes to pick them up, and to find out they were the wrong ones. Sat there for 1 hour to deal with this situation. Wickes called again on Jan 21, chairs were in. We than called and spoke to the Manager, and said that we weren't coming back in please see if the chairs were the wrong ones.

Wickes called again on Jan 28, saying the chairs were in. Called again, spoke to a manager again, and they were still the wrong chairs. Received a call on Jan 29, again saying our chairs were in. Nope, they weren't. Finally, received a call on Jan 30, the chairs our in. Called again on Jan 31, at 11:30 saying I was picking up the chairs within an hour, and I wanted the scotchguarding to be done by the time I got there. The receptionist said no, I had to come in and than they would scotchguard.

I said I wanted to speak to manager, she refused, put me on hold, came back and said she would have someone scotchguard them if I can in right away. I left work at 11:45 and got to Wickes at 12:00, the chairs weren't scotchguarded and they I got nothing but attitude from the staff. I waited another 15 minutes for the scotchguarding. I will in the future when looking for furniture, will not be shopping at Wickes. I was extremely disappointed with our service. Layla Thompson (Lescher)
