Car Rental from Avis, Manchester International Airport in the UK - unfairly charged for scratch to car

Avis Rent-A-Car .... NEVER AGAIN Having hired a car for a one day rental on 23rd Jan 2002 from Manchester International Airport in the UK, I pointed out to the Avis representative a scratch on the hire car during pick-up. The representative disputed it as a scratch saying it was dirt which would come off in the next wash.

Yes Avis are RUBBISH !

I picked up a rental from Heathrow Airport and noticed several hours later after a short trip, the car they gave me had a slow puncture. I reported this the next day andtold to bring the car back to be replaced, woman I spoke to inspected the tyre for damage - was none and swapped the car over, said I would not be charged for the tyre, only the fuel I used. Two week later when I gave the replacement back they charged me over 100 HUNDRED POUNDS sterling for a new tyre and were completely intransigent even though I wrote on the report form car picked up with a slow puncture !!

Do not bother with AVIS, the only thing they try harder to do is rip you off unfairly.
