Andrews Auto Sales
2801 Niles St
Bakersfield, Ca 93306 I purchased a used 1994 Lincoln Continental for $4,304.00 from Andrews Auto Sales, 2801 Niles Street Bakersfield, CA 93306 on June 30 th 2006 from Abdulla Aldhulay for my granddaughter and within 12 hrs the check engine light came on. All fluids were checked and nothing appeared to be wrong so
we assumed it needed an oil change because the oil was dirty and planned to take it in on Friday. On Wed, 5 days later it overheated and broke down. When towed to a mechanic he said it blew a head gasket and also a large whole in the radiator. It was bought without a guarantee but I feel that since he kept telling us it was a good car that it should have lasted longer than 5 days. Also, my granddaughter had given them $230 for a deposit before we purchased it. When we said we had reconsidered he said "well I would hate to have to keep your deposit". He repeated this several times. Believing that my granddaughter would lose the money she had saved for her deposit, I bought the car. After I left he told my granddaughter that he just said that he would keep her money so I would get her the car. We took the car back to him and he agreed to have his mechanics repair it. We took it to 2 different mechanics and it took over 3 weeks. The first one said he rebuilt the heads, replaced the gasket and put a new radiator in it. It was towed back to the car lot and we felt it was still not fixed. Abdulah from Andrews Auto Sales got into an argument with that mechanic and it was taken to his second mechanic and we were told he would put new heads and fix the timing and the fuel injection and we would have to pay $400 more dollars. The car ran for about 5 weeks, the check engine light came on right away (they told us it must be something minor). Also 3 of the windows will not work. We are told by our mechanic that there is a bent rod and it needs a long block or lower half of the engine. It is about $1,400 just for the part. Also, he said by the evidence of old oil around the heads, that nothing was done to them. My
granddaughter, her boyfriend and her baby need a car for work, doctors and grocery shopping. He has lost 2 jobs because of lack of transportation and I have had to take him to another one which is a 40 mile trip for me and lots of gas. It has been a nightmare. Sequence of events June 30th bought the car with cash for $4,304.00 June 30th 12 hrs later check engine light comes on July 5th car overheats and breaks down, towed to mechanic Fast Radiator, he says it is heads July 7th Abdulah from the car lot agrees to tow it to his mechanic for rebuilding of heads and new radiator no receipts given to us for work July 21st car is returned to Andrews and we decide it is still not repaired July 22 second mechanic says it needs new heads and fuel injection and timing repaired Abdulah says he will pay 1/2 of repairs of $800 July 28th car is picked up after many calls; Abdulah says car is "like new now" refused to give us receipts for repairs July 28th check engine light is still on. We are told must be minor. We should take it to someone for computer analysis Aug windows begin to not work, check engine light still on, car stalls all the time Sept 15th car overheats, stalls and when started makes a very loud tapping noise, it is a bent rod Approximately Sept 20th my granddaughter calls Abdulah with complaint about car. He calls her a stupid woman Sept 25th my mechanic from Firestone days it is bent rod, needs long block, no work was done on heads. Part alone will cost $1400 We feel even though it no warranty that the salesmen misrepresented the value and condition of the car. When asked if it would make it to Orange County (130 miles) he said of course he had just taken it to Fresno (about 100 miles)He lead us to believe he would keep our down payment if we changed
our minds. He charged us $400 for heads that were not touched and refused to give us receipts for the work done.
