T_Mobile Phone Rebate Program

T_Mobile Phone Rebate Program T_Mobile Phone Rebate Program October 14, 2006 T-Mobile is ripping customers off and creating unnecessary work for the customer.
T_Mobile offers a rebate that takes 8 weeks to obtain. However, it doesn't take them 8-weeks to charge a customer for a new phone. To add insult to injury, the customer has to cut the mailing label off of the box to be sent to the company as proof of purchase instead of using some kind of sku number or tracking mechanism. As a result, the customer has to pay additional postal charges/costs. Another insult is that there is an expiration date for the rebate to be sent in. The expiration date is usually 1 - 2 weeks. If the customer is very busy that person may forget. The last time, I went through this process, I ended up losing my 2 - $15 rebates because one didn't come in when it was supposed to so I waited for the other one to come in and ended up losing both. I sent in two labels and the company claimed that it was their mistake that they thought it was only one label that had been sent in. I was never reimbursed. By the way the check had to be cashed within 30 days. Why not give 8-weeks. The rebate policy is strict on the customer but not on the company. I wonder why.
In this age of technology there is no way that T-Mobile should have this tedious process. I believe that T-Mobile has this process set up to deliberately deter and inconvenience the customer so that he/she will give up on the rebate.
The customer service is terrible unless you are opening an account.
I plan on contacting the BBB and any other complaint center until T_Mobile contacts me and changes its policies.
