Best Western, Willow Ca Best Western, Willow Ca October 14, 2006 While traveling I stayed at Best Western in willows, ca. While the rooms were nice, I experienced a HUGE problem. While walking to the breakfast area through the courtyard I stumbled in a large hole in the grass, this was not a mole burrow but more like a stump had been removed and not filled in properly. I sprained my ankle and managed to hobble back to my room (one which of course the back door led to the courtyard so it is meant to be used). After gathering myself I went to my car and drove to the front desk and went to the desk clerk and explained what happened. She informed me that they didn't have any "accident reports" but I could take a card and pointed to the end of the counter. (It seems her arms were as non existent as her empathy and customer service) I then asked if by chance I could get a bag of ice to which she rolled her eyes and said they really didn't have anything like that but she would see what she could do. She went into the breakfast room and came back with a bag then told me where the nearest ice machine was (big helper that she is). Three days later I finally received a phone call from the manager who explained that I needed to fill out a accident report (well DUH!) and that they would pass it off to the insurance. I ended up having to take 10 days off work because I stand 6-8 hours at my job and the Dr explained that if I didn't I would end up in physical therapy as it was a moderate sprain and wouldn't heal right if not cared for. The insurance after 5 months declared yes there was a hole and yes they were responsible.. Hmm well again DUH! Anyway my point is this no matter how clean the rooms are if you have a a staff who is put out by having to help when your injured then what can you expect if you just need some regular service??? Their lack of concern (I never even got an I'm sorry out of the place) and their lack of help in a bad situation has turned me off of staying at Best Western when I can avoid it. So if you have a chance to stay at the willows best western be advised DONT injure yourself ...lol...
