Dan Smith's Office Dan Smith's Office October 14, 2006 I recently called in response to an ad I heard on the radio, it was "Dan Smith's Office" and offered "free" financial planning. the number is 1-800-596-2795. and I spoke with a person who took my information, along with my debit card number and assured me I would be contacted by a financial planner right away, well it is 8 hours later and no one has contacted me. I was also told the packet would be sent to me and my account would only be charged 9.95 , I had 30 days to cancel and if I did not cancel my account would then be charged 39.95 a month for four months. I asked several times if I could cancel at anytime and I was told "yes." After 8 hours and not hearing from a financial planner I called the original number back and requested a cancellation of the entire program. I was told I had to cancel through the customer service number , which is 1-800-591-8804. I called this number only to get a recording, that the number could not be completed as dialed???? I called the original number back and was told that I should call the number on Monday and it may be working and I should just wait and try then. I am so upset, I have a feeling I am not going to be able to cancel this transaction. Is there anything I can do? HELP. Sheila C.
