Maytag / Sears

Maytag / Sears Maytag / Sears October 14, 2006 In November of 2004 I bought a Maytag self standing double oven that sells for $1600 and a side by side Kenmore fridge. When they were delivered the men had to remove the doors on the fridge and when they put them back on the doors were crooked. I had a repair man come twice to fix them but was told that they can not be fixed. So I said I wanted a new one and was told it would happen to all of the ones they send because they can never get them right. I bought a agreement and was told there is nothing they can do. All I want is my door to not be crooked. It waste energy. Now for the Maytag stove. I had a year warranty and I bought another year agreement with Sears. I called Sears and was told that they ran the same year and not one year after the other. So I wasted money for an agreement. But that was only the last problem. My stove does have two ovens. A smaller one on top and a large one on bottom. My husband got them for me as a gift. Within the first month I tried to call Maytag and tried to e-mail them with a few design problems. The vents on the oven fronts allow for water, spilling, etc. to run inside the oven windows and there is no way to clean them. I was told by sears after the fact that I would have to have a repair man come clean them I said "EVERY TIME?" and was told yes. That is a nice way of ripping people off to buy new agreements, but I felt it was the design. The other day I was wiping my stove top and the 4 top burners caught on fire. I put the flames out and called Sears. The repair man told me I got the wet rag to close to the electric starter and I burned them out and it was my fault so I had to pay for parts and labor. That is when I learned I did not have an agreement as I thought I did. Also I fell it is a design problem. The doors on the oven lock when not in use if you set the lock on, but I feel for safety I should be able to lock the ovens when in use for safety also. Also a design problem. I have taken the time to find the headquarters number for Maytag and voiced my dismay and design concerns and was told they would get back to me. They never did so I called them again . No reply. When Sears repair man replaced my burner units they broke my element holders and will not repair them at there costs. I Have called twice with no return call. So Now I have a crooked fridge a broken stove and problems with the ovens. I am not real happy with this and I need help.
