The Door Store Furniture

The Door Store Furniture The Door Store Furniture October 14, 2006 I purchased a bed from the The Door Store six weeks ago and still have not received it. And, unfortunately, I had to make a deposit to order the bed and I now can't cancel my order but for a store credit.
The Door Store has the WORST customer service I have dealt with in a long time. In a city full of quality furniture stores, I'm floored that this place is still in business. I hope that this comment reaches as many people as possible, as I can't express how irritated I am with this company.
When I called to order the bed, after having seen it in a physical store once, I reached a nasty woman who was barely interested in taking my order and credit card information. I figured that I just fell on a bad seed and placed my order anyway. I was told that it would be delivered within 3-4 weeks; which although a long wait, I was prepared to deal with. After 5 weeks, I called and spoke to the store manager who told me that, well, the delivery wasn't "that" late and I should be patient. Irritated, I told him that this was unacceptable and I needed to know when it would be arriving. He promised me that someone would call me within the next 2 days. A week went by and I heard nothing.
So, I called the customer service department back and they told me that my bed had arrived and they could now deliver it. Oh, thanks... Wasn't anyone going to notify me? I was then told that it could be delivered only a week later as their trucks were full. At this point I was livid. My bed was going to be delivered 8 weeks after I ordered it and none of the Door Store employees gave sh*t.
Irritated as heck, I asked to cancel my order, but they reminded that all I could get was store credit. None of the 4 people I spoke to in my interactions with this company were of any help. Now I have to wait another week to get a bed that I ordered two months ago. My fingers are crossed that they'll actually deliver it, and that it's not a piece of junk.
There are so many great furniture stores in New York. Take my advice, stay far away from The Door Store. They suck.
