Sears Sears March 7, 2006 Sears in Independence Mo. I purchased a wall oven from sears on 02/24 and they said it would be installed in 4 days. Of course I had to wait until 03/01 for them to send a contractor to my residence. After 10 minutes of looking at my old oven the contractor stated he could not install the oven. He then began a list of things I would need to have it installed ie.. new electrical outlets, new gas lines, cabinet work. The contrator didn't even remove the old unit. He left the new oven sitting in my dining room and left. I have been calling everyday since to get and estimate on these "so-called" parts and an installation date. Now they are going to charge me $400 (nearly the price of the new oven) to install it and they said I have to wait until 04/01. What happened to the 4 days I was told when I bought it? What happened to the installation fee I already paid? I tried calling Sears and of course got the "call this number" run-a-round. Finally I found the direct number to the corerate office (1-800-549-4505) on the internet. Now the are suppose to install the oven on 03/11. If they show up. I filled a complaint through the BBB because of the extra cost and false statement that it would be installed in 4 days, not 4 weeks like the were trying to do. But I am still going to get burn and have to pay an extra $400 to have it installed.
