Hello Complainers,
I join the chorus of complaints over late fees charged by Cingular and buried in the bill. The $5 charge is 15% of my $35 monthly bill. That amounts to over 200% interest per annum.
My payment has been received a couple of days late on two occasions and have been penalized twice. I have also paid in advance, but Cingular doesn't give me a $5 discount for my advance payment. If they charged 1.5% or 53 cents, I would have no problem.
Hello Lawyers. This customer ripoff must be a prime target for a Class Action suit. If Cingular has 10 million customers and only half get hit once a year by these robbers, that's a tidy $25 million. If they have been doing this for four years, that's $100 million. If treble damages apply, that's $300 million. Now that's a tidy figure for an attorney.
