I purchased this carpet cleaner about two years ago, at the recommendation of Consumer Reports. It has done a good job cleaning our carpets; however, the tiny piece of rubber that plugs the hole in the solution tank to keep the solution from leaking out has had to be replaced four times since we bought it, and it is now broken again. Is there a way to fix this, other than replacing the entire tank? And why does it keep breaking?

I bought the Hoover Stea Vac Dual V Deep Cleaner sometime after May of '03 which is stamped on the bottom of the clean water resevoir. I have been having the same gasket/plugs leaking problem. It doesn't look broke, but both sides leak.
