Alicante Airport - Spain Sorry about the length and format of this Email - but I thought it was worth including - summary - used a hire car arranged by Carjet with Centauro - had wheel damage when collected - Centauro consulted & confirmed it was ok - when car was returned it was checked and passed inspection and our deposit was returned - when we got home we found Centaurio had taken 200 Euros from our bank account - they claim thet subsequently found a damaged spare wheel in the boot of the car - we did'nt do it - the damage we originally reported obviously suggestes this was done by the previous renter - Carjet and Centauro are not answering our Emails or letters Can we do anything ? Centauro confirm to me that:

1) The damages pointed out on the contract and that the agent referred to was DANOS SALIDA (Damage Out) 15 BAJO LATERAL DERECHO HUNDIDO ( damage to right bottom side dent) 17 FALTA TAPACUBOS DELANTERO DERECHO (missing wheel hubcap/trim)

2) Upon return of the vehicle they detected that the spare tyre under the carpet was burst, the charge was for the replacement wheel

3) You confirm that you did not use the spare wheel but Centauro confirm that the wheel was in perfect condition when you collected the car otherwize there would have been a note stating the damaged wheel. (they couldnt have let you have the car without a spare wheel anyway.

3) Centauro confirmed that you pointed out to them about the missing hupcap on one of the wheels (on the car not in the boot) Considering the above facts and what was noted on the rental contract you signed and confirmed we are unable to take this any further as Centauro have proceeded according to contract. this is absolute rubbish - we did NOT burst a tyre on the car - when we picked the car up, one of the front tyres was missing a wheel trim (it may even have been the spare tyre, we don't know) - we reported this to Centauro and they said they knew about it we returned the car to the "clean area" - it was driven 100 yards by the Centauro rep to a parking bay next to their office (how? if it had a burst

tyre) where it was inspected - it passed their inspection!!! - and they refunded our 150 Euros deposit - had there been any damage (which there most definitely was not) we should have been informed there and then after their inspection we are thoroughly unhappy with this reply - please investigate further - in fact this is absolute nonsense if you do not settle this to our satisfaction we will take legal action - Centauro should not have deducted ANY monies from our account without our consent - AND SIGNATURE ... this looks like a scam to me and we will not rest until it is exposed please escalate this to David Croft immediately we use Carjet many times per year - check our records - we have a home in Spain - we will never use Carjet again unless this is resolved to our satisfaction immediately Ron & Linda Chrisp -----Original Message-----
