Rain Soft doing business as (Carolina Water System) out of Charlotte, NC I recently bought a water softener through this company. I decided to give it a try, after a 3 hours pitch and demo of a salesperson in my house at night. The next day the system was installed in my garage. We noticed immediately that the water was not as clear as it was demonstrated by the salesman. That issue was pointed out to the installer who assured us that it would change after a couple of days. Two days later we still did not like to product, so we called the main office to return the system. It was on a Friday morning. we left a message to be called back. No one did until Monday, at which time we asked them to come get the system. Their response was that Friday was the last day to return the product. “Now it belongs to you” said the person on the phone. At that time she said that we can fax the return request over to a number she gave us. Nowhere on the return policy does it say to fax a return request, or does it provide a fax number. The options were to take the product ourselves to the company (I do not know how to put it apart) or send a money gram. After complaining a while, I got through the president of the company. I let him know that I will have to go to court to settle this issue if necessary, to what he replied that he has been doing this business for over 15 years, and is in and out of court all the time “ bring it on” . I am just flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism, and customer service displayed by this company and its leaders. The salesman lied about being a member of the BBB, lied about the product. And we have no resource to get justice without having to spend time and money into court. I would like to extent an invitation to everyone who is going through the same thing with this company. I will agree with this statement. I went through very much the same thing and I will advise consumers to beware of this company. I am paying thousands of dollars on a product that does not work as well as the salesman would have liked us to believe. If a consumer knew how well it worked (again, not as well as the very good salesman would have us believe), we would not spend so much money. Eventually, the company has to go under for this lack of customer service. I don't know what to do...but I know that I will spread that word as much as I can.
