C.F. Martin Guitar Co. Nazareth, PA. 18064 C.F. Martin Guitar Co. Nazareth, PA. 18064 June 29, 2006 I purchased a 2003 model D-18 Golden Era guitar. I rarely play, but when I do it has a buzzing sound on the A and the E strings. I payed 2600.00 t for the guitar. I had it at the local autherized repairman twice and sent it to the Martin factory. They say there is nothing wrong with it. That it is the way I am playing it. If you know anything about gitars there is a devise that is called a capo that changes the tuning as you place it up and down the frets on the gitar. When I use this devise the buzzing is more apparent. They sent me a letter stating that I should not use a capo on their guitar. I play bluegrass style music and their claim to fame is providing a bluegrass guitar to the public. The use of a capo is widely used by professional musicians as well as amateurs. I feel that the company warrenty should take care of the quality of this guitar and not pass the buck. Martin gives you a warrenty with the purchase of the instrument, but they do not want to stand behind it.I spent $120.00 sending it back and forth to the factory and it came back to me the same way or worse when I recieved it back. I can and have let others play the guitar to see if the results were the same. 100 % of the time the results were the same. I am looking for a sounding board that might get their attention. What tpe of service do you provide? Thank You.
