Panasonic HDTV and Dade City TV Repair (authorized Panasosnic repairs) Panasonic HDTV and Dade City TV Repair (authorized Panasosnic repairs) June 29, 2006 We purchased a 32" Panasonic HDTV on December 21, 2002 with a five year warranty. On June 9, 2006 we lost power. The retail store where we purchased the TV (Rex TV, Leesburg, FL) had to try numerous times over a period of one week just to get a return call from an authorized Panasonic repair service (Dade City TV, Dade City, FL) to set up a date for a repairman to come. Finally on June 19, a repairman came. He was unable to move the TV due to it's size and weight. He assessed the problem as a burned out high voltage regulator and guaranteed us it was fully covered under warranty. It would have to be taken to Dade City TV and he would have them call to set up another time for two repairmen to come. On June 26, ONE repairman came and again could not or would not move the TV. Now we are told that WE are responsible for moving this TV out of the entertainment center before they will move it. This is due to 1) it's to heavy for THEIR repairman to move (we are senior citizens with health problems); 2) it's puts too much liability on them and 3) they don't want to be responsible for damaging our furniture. MALARKEY!!!
In all fairness to Rex TV, they have tried hard and unsuccessfully to get repairs done by Panasonic authorized Dade City TV and are now trying to locate another repair person for us. HOWEVER. we would like to go on record...NEVER PURCHASE A PANASONIC PRODUCT...their product is only as good as their service. NEVER USE DADE CITY TV REPAIR...they are irresponsible and their office help is extremely rude.
We gave just learned via COMPLAINTS.COM that ours is not an isolated incident. They have had other complaints about Panasonic power supplies going bad in addition to other problems not covered under the warranty. We are hoping this will not be the case with ours, providing we get it repaired at all. It is now June 29. We have the promise of a new repair service tomorrow. One can only hope!
