Since I wrote this letter, Aveda corp. has offered to reimburse the expenses of the "hairdo" They were gracious and thoughtful. My take on them now? Awesome customer relations!

Pure NV Salon and Spa, Upper James Ave Hamilton Ontario Kasha, 258 Locke Street South, Hamilton, Pure NV Salon didn't wash my daughters hair, do the head massage, just curled her already wavy hair. They charged $48.00. I called and explained that I got my hair cut, blowed dry and curled for $50.00. They claimed that hers was a special occasion (graduation) and that was a different category altogether and the staff should have explained it when she booked the appointment. They didn't do that. The management feels that they are correct and frankly, I have never heard such nonsense from a business owner. He also mentioned that an Aveda Concept salon doesn't mean they have to follow a standardized format. The second salon in this town, called Kasha, seemed better, until I got two very bad haircuts by the owner. Instead of fixing the first one he made it worse! I mentioned that a $70.00 haircut should be of a better quality than say, a $25.00 one. He shrugged and that was that. My take on Aveda? Total ripoff. I'd say it's pretty ridiculous of you to expect to pay the prices you would find at first choice. Secondly, I have been a client at Kasha for as long as I can remember and I have had hair cuts and colours by the owner everytime. The man is brilliant, I have never walked out of that salon with a bad cut. You obviously have no idea what a good hair cut looks like. My mother has also been a client of his for almost 15 years and the customer service in that salon is phenomenal. Had you actually mentioned to him that you were not happy with the second cut I know 100% that he would have either offered to fix it or somehow compensated for it to keep you happy. People don't seem to realize that a stylist isn't a mind reader, I'm sure the cut was great, it probably just wasn't something that fit your personal tastes which is fine. Don't go bashing a great business/stylist just because you didn't tell him what you wanted properly or even at all. Maybe you're better off going to first choice and paying $15 or whatever the cost is for a cut, they might meet your standards of a good cut? S Hamilton, ON L8P 4B9 www.kasha.ca How unfair is that? I was not even aware of any problem until now (February 4th, 2008). I don't recall having to re-cut any one's hair in the last 10yrs. And I still have a full client list. Imagine that. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 05-Feb-08 10:54:40 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
