Bellsouth fast access dsl bellsouth fast access dsl June 19, 2006 Re: Bellsouth fast access dsl
I switched from road runner to bell south fast access after being told it was just as fast. Initially it was, however, I was contacted about a year later saying it was now avalable at an even faster speed and would only cost me 10.00 per month more. I said ok but then my service got slower. I called to complain; they made some kind of adjustment and said this should take care of it. It did not. I called yet again and requested they put back the way it was before they made the update and supposedly they did however, I was still not satisfied was as fast as had been just the week before. Eventually I realized that they took me off the introductory 3 year rate of 49.00 and doubled the rate. Other calls were made and supposed adjustments made but problem not corrected. Finally an independant sales person (about the 10th one in the last year) came by to say he wanted to see my Bell south bill and make sure I was getting the best rate possible. I said Bell south should be giving me the best rate already because I have always been their customer. While he was here, I brought up the problem of the dsl fast access. He spent 2 hours here on phone with Bell South and supposedly they were to make the adjustments necessary to give me credit for what I had been over charged. Insisted that I sign another contract even though I had a copy of one I had already signed which no one seemed to know about. As far as I know the over charge has been handled, however I am still calling tech support because of slow speed. Spoke to them last week. They did speed test and said speed was good. Did some other adjustments but did not help. Though they say speed is good, it now seems like it is no faster than when I was on dial up. My home page is "Fraenkel Company.com". Should take just a few seconds to load. Just now; after about 3 minutes, still had not finished down loading. Rebooted computer and tried again but still just as slow. Many experiences of this type of slowness. I do not know what the continuous problem is but here is what it seems like:
It's like they have more than one speed and that each speed is a different price. For example purposes lets say A is the slowest, B is faster, C is faster still, and D is the fastest with D being the most expencive. I seems like they swapped me off of Road Runner to D for 49. and now they started trying to make changes and now have me on A which is 3 times slower than what I got when I signed up. I can not say for sure what is going on, all I know is that my service is now much slower than what they gave me when I sgned up.
