In April 2006 we purchased three tickets to Chicago thru Orbitz for $532.00. We were to leave on May 25,2006 and return on May 29,2006. We were flying American Airlines to Chicago and returning via United Airlines to Baltimore, this was considered a round trip ticket. When we checked the tickets two weeks before departure we noticed that our return flight was June 29,2006 not May 29.2006. According to Orbitz we would have to change our departing American Airlines flight to one way and cancel the United flight and repurchase another United ticket. There was no charge for the United Airlines change but we had to purchase another $300 ticket for United which we did. American then kept the difference of $300 from the round trip to the one way trip by charging us $100 a ticket for making the change.

When we got to BWI on May 25,2006 we were advised at the check-in counter that our flight to Chicago had been cancelled and we would have to re-route. We were not notified even though Orbitz had our cell phone numbers. We then flew to Atlanta via Delta, waited 2.5 hours and took another American Airlines flight to Chicago arriving at 3:30pm (we were scheduled to leave at 7:30am and arrive in Chicago at 8:30am) . We thought that since American Airlines charged us $300 for making a change, they could refund that money since they changed our flight and plans completely. When we sent an email to American Airlines Customer Service we received a reply stating that they were very busy and could not get back to us but they would try their best to respond. It is now June 12,2006 and we have heard nothing from American Airlines. Orbitz of course says that it is the airlines problem not theirs.

I do not have good feelings for Orbitz or American Airlines and will probably not use either one again. Thank you......Marvin
