SEARS - Microwave With Hood

SEARS SEARS - Microwave With Hood July 14, 2006 July 14, 2006 Name of Store: SEARS Location: 6100 South Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois I am a senior citizen who purchased a refrigerator, stove, washing machine and dryer, and a micrwave oven with a hood from Sears. Over the past two weeks, I have been put through no end of stress with this company. They delivered a stove that was damaged on the side and offered me a $65.00 gift certificate if I would accept this eyesore in my kitchen. I refused and told them I wanted it replaced with a new stove. They complied. Next, they delivered the microwave oven with the hood. This was not working. A repairman came to the house and confirmed that it was defective and needed repairs and that he would order the parts. I called 4 days later(July 14th.) to ask that they also replace the micowave because, as I thought about it, I paid for a new item, and found out that the part was not even ordered. By the way, even though I paid for installation, they refused to do the initial installation of the microwave. I made a request for the new item and was told that I must disconnect and bring the microwave back to their store and then reinstall the new one at my home, if I want to receive a new microwave. I don't believe that I should have to do all of this to get Sears to come and get their defective goods out of my house and give me what I paid them for. I believe that Sears is very discourteous and is only doing this because I am a senior citizen. I should not be seen as a person on whom they can dump all their defective products and then they can use intimidation and scare tactics to get me to accept. Anything you are able to do to help me will be highly appreciated. Sincerely, Cynthia
