Feb 06 we purchased a bedroom set and 2 chaise lounges from Moda plus shipping to AZ and setup. Delivery was scheduled for June 06. Full payment was charged to our AmEx. June came and no one called us regarding delivery. We called Moda. They didn't return the call. We called again. Tony, Manager of the Paramus store, returned the call stating they will not deliver to AZ for the shipping price charged because of the increase in gas prices. Tony requested $600 more for shipping to AZ and setup. Or, Tony said he can ship our order via UPS to the door without setup and return $250. We told him that we contracted and paid for the order to be shipped to AZ and setup and that his options were unacceptable. We want what we paid for. Tony simply repeated that he can not deliver our order unless we pay another $600 or decide to ship UPS curbside. I told him that I would call him back. Then I checked out the NJ BBB, NJ Consumer Protection and complaints.com and decided to file claims now and ask questions later. I'm not playing around. I'm filing with the NJ BBB, OCP (Office of Consumer Protection), AmEx, my lawyer and contacting ABC shame on you. I think the NJ BBB and OCP should be required to post at the place of business a 'consumer warning' bulletin. It's a sin that consumers need to find out whom not to buy from after the fact.
